ARTIST’S STATEMENT

As a self taught artist, I love the inspiration which scenery of the mountain west provides. I grew up in St. Louis and finished high school in Savannah, Georgia. This was followed by a geology degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Indiana Kelley School of Business. I had the opportunity to study Art History, travel extensively and spend time outdoors climbing 14ers in Colorado. I have lived in Dallas, Europe, Salt Lake City and now Montana.

My work is influenced by my experiences outdoors. I seek to capture patterns, shapes, reflections, backlit clouds and shadows. I started painting when I was 11 as suggested by my Dad. In 1999, I met Kevin skiing at SnowBird and he introduced me to airplane camping in Idaho and Utah and encouraged me to get my pilots license. In the last few years I have devoted time to painting, flying and skiing. We have had tremendous adventures flying to the many airstrips in the Frank Church Wilderness.

My works have been selected and invited to several juried national and regional exhibits, (Sweetpea Summer 2025 Show, Wallowa Festival of Arts- Joseph Oregon, Yellowstone Gateway Museum, ERA Sweetpea Winter Art Show, solo show at Zoot, Livingston Center of Art and Culture, Art & Soul of Magic Valley) in Montana, Oregon and Idaho. Invited and participated in 2025 Plein Air events in 2025 - Big Sky, Choteau and Livingston. My works are also on display at Mad Dog Gallery in Challis Idaho, the Livingston Mt airport and three pieces have been invited through a juried event by Yellowstone Art Museum to be on display at the Billings airport new addition Nov 2025 - May 2026
